As I ponder about all of the tragedies that many of us have faced with loss during this pandemic; I am reminded that God is a comforter and healer. We have heard many times about how we are responsible for what is recorded between the dashes of our birth and our departure.

Shania Mone’t Hanks “Niya” as she was affectionately called was a quiet storm even as a child. Although she was quiet, people always wanted to be a part of her circle.
Message of hope
Hebrews 11:1 says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
For those walking through grief or a journey of loss, this verse becomes a gentle reminder that even in sorrow, hope is still present—though it may feel quiet, distant, or hard to grasp.
Grief has a way of changing what we see and how we see it. There are days when the absence feels louder than the promise, and healing feels out of reach. Yet faith assures us that what God has spoken over your life has not been erased by loss. What you cannot see right now does not mean it is gone—it means it is still held by God.
Hope in grief does not always feel like joy. Sometimes it simply looks like getting up one more day, breathing through the ache, or remembering that love does not end—it transforms. Faith becomes the bridge between your pain and God’s presence, holding you steady when emotions feel overwhelming.
So in your grief journey, let this truth anchor you: even in loss, God is still writing your story. What you miss is real, what you feel is valid, but what God promises is still true. And faith—your quiet, steady trust—is what carries you through what you cannot yet see.
